University of Tampa Unveils Redesigned Athletics Website
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa athletic department has unveiled the redesigned TampaSpartans.com. This marks the fourth redesign of TampaSpartans.com, as the University begins a new partnership with PrestoSports.
The new home of UT athletics will improve the fan’s experience through the website’s responsive design, tailoring the viewing experience to remain dynamic regardless of the screen it is viewed upon. Most importantly, none of the website’s links will change, which means fans can still access their bookmarked pages and navigate the site in the same manner as before.
Chief among the new features is the implementation of the Social Stream, which integrates posts from Tampa's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube accounts. Currently, UT ranks among the top-10 Division II school in social media followers, and is first in Twitter and Instagram followers among non-football institutions.
The site also has a consolidated design, as the pages are now more compact with less scrolling and clicking needed to find information. Using tabbed design, fans can easily find everything needed to track their favorite Spartan teams. The main page provides direct links to each team's home page, news, roster and schedule.
A new mobile site is also available, featuring access to the same content as the desktop version. The size of this page adjusts to the size of your device's screen with responsive browsers.
Spartan fans will also have the ability to download a free app Front Row through the Android and Apple app stories. With UT Front Row, fans can follow the action on all Tampa Spartans teams and receive breaking news, scores and alerts by signing up for notifications.
UT will continue to offer a mailing list and mobile alerts. Fans will need to sign up for these services through tampaspartans.com/list-signup.
