Bio

Dominic Gallone is proud to return to his alma mater as the Strategic Communications Assistant. For the past two years, he worked in the UT athletic department as a student assistant, where his duties included managing game notes, editing bios, creating player graphics, and many other tasks. Gallone was the play-by-play broadcaster for softball. He also created video content by interviewing players and coaches.

Prior to his time at UT, Gallone held a full-year internship within the USF athletic communications department, where he served as the primary contact for men’s tennis. He wrote previews and recaps, arranged interviews for standout players, and managed social media accounts to ultimately promote awareness for a nationally ranked competitor. The national recognition helped USF secure the AAC Player of the Year and Coach of the Year, as well as two players tabbed as ITA All-Americans.

During the year-long internship at USF, he gained valuable experience in various sports programs. Gallone served as the press box PA announcer for football games at Raymond James Stadium. He learned StatCrew, and logged statistics for volleyball and baseball. He assisted broadcasters and producers from ESPN and CBSSN with official statistics during televised basketball games, and also played a key role in re-vitalizing the baseball record books.

Gallone has volunteered frequently throughout his time in college. For three consecutive years, he has spent his winter break volunteering at the Gasparilla Bowl, previously known as the St. Petersburg Bowl. He has volunteered for the NCAA’s championship events in the Tampa area, such as Division I Women’s Basketball Final Four, Division I Men’s Frozen Four, CFP National Championship, and Division II Women’s Lacrosse Final Four. For those events, he held a role within the media coordination department. Additionally, Gallone served as the press box PA announcer at the Outback Bowl in 2016.

A Burlington, New Jersey native, he currently resides in Florida while his parents, Gary and Michelle, remain up north. His sister, Amanda, attends the University of Tampa and was recently accepted into the athletic training program.
