Bio

John Tyner was a longtime supporter of UT athletics. He practiced internal medicine in the bay area for over 30 years and served as chief of staff and chief of medicine for several years at Brandon Regional Hospital. During that period, he also served as team physician for the University of Tampa Spartans and was inducted into their Sports Hall of Fame. In 1976 he was hired by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as their team physician and served in that capacity until 1980. "Docs", his slow pitch softball team in the American Slow Pitch League, garnered many National Championships.
