Bio
Mark Wakefield was a standout wide receiver for the Tampa Spartans football team. He recorded 35 receptions for 554 yards and two touchdowns. Wakefield averaged 15.8 yards per catch for the 1973 Spartans team that finished with a record of 8-3. He holds the Tampa Stadium record for a TD pass, 93 yards, against Mississippi in 1971. Wakefield holds the school record for receptions, and was named All-South in 1973. He played two years for the Detroit Lions.
