Biography

Jeff Lamm completed his sixth season at the helm of the University of Tampa beach volleyball team, after becoming the first coach in program history, announced in 2017. Lamm was named head coach after spending 15 seasons as an assistant coach with the indoor Tampa volleyball team. This is Lamm’s 23rd year coaching volleyball at the high school, club, and collegiate levels. He has also served as the assistant director of Tampa Volleyball Camps since coming to the school.

After finishing third overall at the AVCA National Championships in 2022, Lamm guided his 2023 sandy Spartans to the program's third national championship in six seasons. He also coached a pair of All-Americans in Julia Oswald and Payton Brunick, while leading his squad against a national powerhouse schedule that included six nationally-ranked opponents.

With a return to play in 2021, Lamm returned the Spartans to their winning ways, earning the program's second AVCA Small College National Championship. UT ended their season with 19-11 overall record. Julia Oswald and Rachel Rosequist became the first pair in program history to be named AVCA Division II All-Americans.

In the 2020 campaign, Lamm led the Spartans to a 9-5 overall record. The season was stopped short with 16 duals remaining in the season due to precautionary measures forced by the Coronavirus. The Spartans defeated SSC opponents Palm Beach Atlantic (4-1) and Eckerd (5-0) at the Eckerd College Battle on the Bay on 03/06. UT was on track for another winning season finishing with a 64.3 win percentage.

In just the second season of beach volleyball at UT, Lamm led his squad to the 2019 AVCA Small College National Championship. With the title, UT became the first school in history to win a national championship both indoors and on the beach in the same season. The Spartans finished the season with a 20-10 record, and received votes for the national poll. The Spartan schedule included a total of 18 NCAA Division I opponents, with Tampa posting 20 wins with a top-flight schedule.

In the inaugural season, Lamm led the Spartans to a winning record of 14-10 and took the squad to their first AVCA Small College Championships where they finished fourth.

In 2011, Lamm was honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association of America (AVCA) as its National Assistant Coach of the Year.

With the indoor team, he won his second national championship with the Spartans in 2014 with a 3-0 sweep over Southwest Minnesota State in the title match.
