Spartans Set to Battle Lions
The University of Tampa baseball team will host the Saint Leo Lions in a weekend series matchup.

TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa baseball team will host the Saint Leo University Lions for a weekend series.
The Matchup: No. 2 University of Tampa vs. Saint Leo University
Date/Time: Friday March 10th at 6 p.m., Saturday March 11th at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Location: University of Tampa Baseball Field | Tampa, Fla.
About the Spartans: After winning the game over the Rockhurst University Hawks, University of Tampa is 12-4 overall and 2-1 in conference for the season. The Spartans are led in batting average by J.D. Osborne with .476 after going 2-3 with three RBI and one home run in the game. Kevin Santa also tops the batting average chart with .471 after a 2-3 and one RBI outting against the Hawks. The pitching staff is led by Cheyne Bickel who has a 1.62 ERA and has made an appearance for 16.2 innings. Jordan Leasure joins him with a 2.08 ERA, has pitched for 17.1 innings, and has recorded 20 strikeouts.
About the Lions: This weekend series will open up conference play for the Lions as they travel to Tampa to take on the Spartans. They are 9-6 overall and are led by Dylan Harris with a .507 batting average. The pitching staff for the Lions is led by Zach Whitaker who has a 1.13 ERA, has pitched 16 innings, and recorded 22 strikeouts.
Series History: Tampa owns the all-time series by a 107-31 mark.
Tickets: Tickets for are $5 for adults, senior citizens and coaches. Children under 12 will be admitted free. UT students, faculty and staff will be admitted free with a valid student ID.
