Spartans Welcome Tars for Last Conference Series
The University of Tampa baseball team will welcome the Tars from Rollins College for a series starting Thursday.

TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa baseball team will host the Rollins College Tars for a three game series starting Thursday at 3 pm.
The Matchup: No. 5 University of Tampa vs. Rollins College
Date/Time: Thursday May 11th at 3 p.m., Friday May 12th at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Location: University of Tampa Baseball Field | Tampa, Fla.
About the Spartans: After taking the series from the Eckerd College Tritons, University of Tampa is 34-12 overall and 17-4 in conference for the season. The Spartans are led in batting average by Kevin Santa with .417 after going 4-7 with five runs and two RBI in the series. Darren Miller also tops the batting average chart with .396. The pitching staff is led by Colton Widdows who has a 1.88 ERA and has made an appearance for 38.1 innings. David Lebron joins him with a 2.79 ERA, has pitched for 77.1 innings, and has recorded 80 strikeouts.
About the Tars: The Tars are coming off of a series win (2-1) over Palm Beach Atlantic as they travel to Tampa to take on the Spartans. They are 27-20 overall and 9-12 in the SSC. They are led by Peter Nicoleto with a .351 batting average. The pitching staff for the Tars is led by Caleb Jakes who has a 2.45 ERA, has pitched 58.2 innings, and recorded 62 strikeouts.
Series History: Tampa owns the all-time series over the Tars by a 103-29-1 mark.
Tickets: Tickets for are $5 for adults, senior citizens and coaches. Children under 12 will be admitted free. UT students, faculty and staff will be admitted free with a valid student ID.
