HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Spartans were first on the scoreboard as Stephen Smith hit a single to the left side who ultimately scored off a Darren Miller double to left field in the bottom of the first.
- In the bottom of the third, Connor Crile doubled down the right-field line, which brought Harrison Bragg and Miller home.
- Tampa kept their momentum as they scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth. Cole Perry started it off with a double to left center ending up scoring after an RBI single up the middle by Brandon Gali. Smith then allowed Gali to score after knocking a hit up the middle.
- Bentley was able to get on the board off an RBI single in the top of the eighth.
- Keven Pimentel got the win for the Spartans pitching 4.0 scoreless innings and striking out five batters.
INSIDE THE STATS:
- Smith went 2-4 collecting one RBI and scoring two runs.
- Miller went 2-3 with one RBI and scoring one run.
- Perry went 2-4 hitting a double.
- As a team, Tampa had 11 hits.
