Spartans Welcome Bobcats for Weekend Series
The University of Tampa baseball team will host the Georgia College Bobcats starting Friday at 6pm.
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa baseball team will host the Georgia College Bobcats for a weekend series after a location change due to inclement weather. The first pitch will be thrown at 6 pm on Friday.
The Matchup: No. 2 the University of Tampa vs. Georgia College
Date/Time: Friday, February 9th at 6 p.m., Saturday, February 10th at 3 p.m. and Sunday, February 11th at 12 p.m.
Location: University of Tampa Baseball Field | Tampa, Fla.
About the Spartans: The No. 2 ranked University of Tampa Spartans are led by junior Stephen Smith who has a .467 hitting percentage. Darren Miller has the second leading batting average with .385. Connor Crile leads the team in RBIs with four. David Lebron and Mark Moclair lead the pitching order with 0.00 ERAs and 9 and 10 strikeouts, respectively.
About the Bobcats: The Bobcats are traveling to Tampa after opening the season with a 2-1 record. As a team, the Bobcats have a .365 batting average, .438 on-base percentage, and a .490 slugging percentage. Logan Mattix leads the team in batting average with .545. Cassius Young leads the team with six RBIs. Charlie Hecht leads the pitching order with a 0.00 ERA and seven strikeouts.
Series History: Tampa owns the all-time series over the Bobcats by a 47-20 mark.
Tickets: Tickets for are $5 for adults, senior citizens, and coaches. Children under 12 will be admitted free. UT students, faculty and staff will be admitted free with a valid student ID.
