Keven Pimentel Named SSC Pitcher of the Week
MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa baseball player Keven Pimentel was honored by the Sunshine State Conference as its Pitcher of the Week for his performance last week against Nova Southeastern University.
Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of February 25 - March 3, 2019. Athletes are nominated by Sports Information Directors of member institutions.
Pimentel's win over No.16 Nova Southeastern University earns him Pitcher of the Week honors for the third time in his career. The senior led the Spartans to a 14-0 victory where he struck out ten batters across seven scoreless innings. Pimentel was perfect through five and two-thirds before surrendering a hit which turned out to be his only baserunner allowed. The Huntington Station, New York product posted a .045 batting average against in the combined shutout.
