No. 2 Spartans Start Spring Break with a Win

Tampa, Fla.  – The No. 2 University of Tampa Spartans take down the Seton Hill Griffins on Monday afternoon.

All-Time Series: In 11 meetings against the Griffins, the Spartans have 9 wins.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Griffins tallied the board first, in the top of first with a double to left | 1-0 Griffins.
• The Spartans would answer right back with five of their own in the bottom half of the inning, which featured an E.J. Doskow homer to left field and an E.J. Cumbo triple to left | 5-1 Spartans.
• A homer from Durham for the Griffins and a double to left field from Oberdorf would get the Griffins back within one after two innings of play | 5-4 Spartans.
• The Griffins would tie the game in the top half of the fourth with another home run to left by Shephard | 5-5 Tied.
• In the bottom of the fifth, the Spartans would break the tie with a single up the middle by Cumbo. Jamarcus Lyons would tack on another with a single through the left side | 7-5 Spartans.
• The Spartans went on to score another five runs in an inning in the seventh and closed out the game | Final: 12-5 Spartans.
