TAMPA, Fla. – The #1 University of Tampa Spartans receive their first conference win of the season over Palm Beach Atlantic.

All-Time Series: The Spartans improved their record to 36-7 over the Sailfish and have now won 12 straight against PBA.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After J.P. Gates was plunked with a pitch and Anthony Nunez walked, E.J. Cumbo was inches away from putting the ball over the center-field wall. Instead, it resulted in a triple to bring home both Gates and Nunez. Jake Griffith followed with a single to center to bring home Cumbo. Bot 2 | 3-0 Tampa
- After Gates smashed one past the first baseman to bring home Mike Valdez, Nico Saladino brought home Brayden Woodburn with a sacrifice fly. Cumbo came up to the dish with two men on base. Cumbo hammered one almost over the netting in right field for a 3-run shot for his third of the year. Bot 3 | 8-0 Tampa
- After back-to-back walks drawn by Valdez and Santiago Garavito, Woodburn golfed one to left field for a 3-run bomb. Bot 4 | 11-0 Tampa
- After a leadoff triple from T.J. Palma, Stephen Klein drove him in with a single going the other way. Later in the inning, Woodburn would double down the left field line to bring home Klein, and Macallister Jorgensen would single back up the middle to bring home Garavito and Woodburn. - Skylar Gonzalez followed in relief, pitching 2 innings, giving up 4 hits, 3 runs, and 1 walk while striking out 4.
- Ryan Stefiuk pitched the final two innings and didn't allow a single base runner while striking out 1.
