Tampa Sees Win Streak Come to End
ST. LEO, Fla. - The University of Tampa (6-16, 2-10 SSC) men's basketball team fell by a 71-44 margin as Saint Leo University (7-14, 1-10 SSC) completed its season sweep of the Spartans in a Wednesday evening victory.
The Lions led for the entire game, shooting 50.9 percent from the field, and connecting on eight 3-pointers. UT was just 1-for-11 from beyond the arc and 39.5 percent from the floor.
Stefon Barfield was the lone Spartan in double figures with 11 points. Barfield also grabbed a team-high five rebounds.
Tampa is back on the road this weekend as it travels to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to face Nova Southeastern University on Saturday. The game is scheduled for 4 p.m. Live stats and a webcast are available through TampaSpartans.com.
