Spartans Fall to Panthers On the Road
The University of Tampa Men's basketball team traveled to Melbourne to take on the Florida Tech Panthers and were defeated 96-74.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
1st Half | The Panthers jumped out to an early lead over the Spartans but Anthony Gamble was the first Spartan to get points on the board as he hit a deep three pointer assisted by Mekhi Biffle. Marcel Robinson would mirror that with a three pointer of his own that would bring the Spartans within one point of the Panthers. Florida Tech's offense continued to show dominance over the Spartans as they kept their lead as they led by as many as 16 with just under three minutes left in the half. The Panthers would lead 48-36 heading into halftime. Robinson was the leading point scorer in the first half with 14 points. Biffle led in rebounds with four.
2nd Half | The Panthers carried their offensive prowess into the second half as they led by 20 with 10 minutes left in the game. The Spartans attempted at closing in on the Panthers lead but Tampa was riddled with turnovers that would cost them a victory. The Panthers went on to win 96-74.
INSIDE THE STATS:
- Robinson was the leading point scorer with 18 points
- Gamble was the second leading point scorer with 15 points
- Biffle led the defense with seven rebounds
BEYOND THE BOX:
- Five Spartans scored in double digits against the Panthers.
