Eckerd continued to score points as they jumped out to an early 11 point lead with just under eight minutes left in the first half. Back-to-back layups from the Spartans would cut the Tritons lead to seven points. The Spartans continued to close in on the Tritons lead and stayed within three points until five seconds left in the half when they made the score 40-34. Robinson led all Spartans in the first half with 17 points.
2nd Half | The Tritons came out of the locker room strong as they continued adding to their lead. Bacon was the first Spartan to put points on the board after he made a layup. He then made a deep three point shot assisted by Robinson to cut in to the Tritons lead. However, the Tritons fought back to lead by as many as 14 points with just under 13 minutes left on the clock. Behind three consecutive baskets from Robinson, the Spartans fought back to come within nine points of Eckerd.
