TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's basketball team will host the Embry-Riddle Eagles on Saturday, February 17th. The men will compete at 4 pm following the women's matchup at 2:00 pm.   

The Matchup: University of Tampa (8-15, 4-13 SSC) vs. Embry-Riddle (10-15, 4-13 SSC)

Last Time Out: The Spartans traveled to Palm Beach Atlantic and were defeated in an overtime thriller, 103-93. Marcel Robinson led the offense scoring 31 points. Mekhi Biffle led the defense with six rebounds. Pat Bacon led the team in assists with six. He was also the second leading point scorer with 18 points. As a team, the Spartans shot 55.9 percent from the field.

About the Spartans: Bacon leads Tampa offensively, tallying 19.7 points per game. He is followed by senior Marcel Robinson and Duke Shelton with 16 and 14.2 points per game, respectively. As a team, the Spartans average 78.2 points per game and have a 46.6 field goal percentage.

About the Eagles: The Eagles are led offensively by Rudy Bibb-Boyd who leads the team will 384 points averaging 16.7 per game. Nashad Mackey is the second leading point scorer for the Eagles with 16.6 points per game. As a team, Embry-Riddle is shooting 46.1 percent from the field and collecting 40.2 rebounds per game.   

Series History (Men's): The Spartans and the Eagles are tied in the all-time series record with a 3-3 record.

Tickets: Tickets for are $5 for adults, senior citizens and coaches. Children under 12 will be admitted free. UT students, faculty and staff will be admitted free with a valid student ID.
