Late Rally Not Enough to Supplant Bobcats
ST. LEO, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's basketball team dropped the second game of the Saint Leo Crossover Classic against Georgia College.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
1st Half || The Spartans first-half attack was led by forwards Brent Duncan and Jonathan Bryant, who both posted 10 points in the first half. The Spartans went 12-for-22 shooting the ball and earned 11 points from the free-throw line. However, the Bobcats knocked down 9 three-pointers which helped them get out in front quickly as they took an 8 point lead going into halftime. || GC 48-36
2nd Half || Guards Pat Bacon and Derrick Felder looked to get the Spartans back into the game as they combined for 31 points in the second half. Tampa was able to bring the score within a single possession throughout the half, but could never retake the lead, despite the Bobcats not scoring from the field in the final 3 minutes of the game. || GC 86-82
INSIDE THE STATS:
- Four Spartans finished in double-figures: Bacon (26), Bryant (18), Duncan (16), Felder (15).
- Felder and Duncan each added nine rebounds.
- Tampa shot 27 percent from 3-point range.
- Both teams finished with 33 total rebounds.
- Tampa scored 46 points in the paint.
BEYOND THE BOX:
- Bacon has scored in double-digits figures in four consecutive games.
UP NEXT: The University of Tampa Men's Basketball team will take on the No. 2 nationally-ranked Sharks of Nova Southeastern University in the Spartans home and Sunshine State Conference opener, on Saturday at 12 noon at the Martinez Center.
