Tampa Completes Flagler Invitational To Start Season
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's golf team kicked off the 2010-11 campaign with a ninth place showing at the Flagler College Jennison Memorial Invitational.
The Spartans finished with a two-round total of 617 (+41) as a total of 14 teams competed. South Carolina-Beaufort won the team title with a 592, followed by Flagler (593), Valdosta State (595), Armstrong Atlantic State (600) and Rollins (604).
Kris Shane and Quin Trigg were UT's top finishers, placing in a tie for 28th place with a 153. Shane finished with a second round 73 as Trigg clubbed a 78 and 75.
Parker Wingfield (155), Nicolas Jutigny (156), Taylor Noel (159), Kyle Roy (166) and Brixton Albert (168) also represented the Spartans.
Tampa returns to action on Oct. 3-5 at the Spartan Invitational, which it will host at Rogers Park Golf Course.
