Andrew Kew Selected to First Ever USILA Player of the Year Division II Watch List
Kew is one of eleven players to be selected to the USILA Player of the Year Division II watch list.
Louisville, KY - On Thursday, January 25, 2018, the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) announced the Division II Preseason Watch List for the 2018 Player of the Year. The award is presented to the nation's most outstanding men's lacrosse player as voted on by each respective divisions All American Coach Committee. The 2017 Division II winner was Kevin Reisman (Limestone College) and Division III Nathan Blondino (Salisbury University).
Updates to the "watch list" will be released on March 12 and April 16, while three finalists will be announced on May 7. The winners for Division I, II and III will be announced at the Final Four banquets (Division I on May 24 and Divisions II/III on May 25) at Gillette Stadium.
Last season the University of Tampa men's lacrosse team ended its season in a, 12-10, national semifinal loss to top-seeded Limestone. Andrew Kew led the Spartans offense with 86 goals on the season. Additionally, he had 13 assists, picked up 22 ground balls, and caused six turnovers. Due to his stellar performance on the field, he was a 2017 USILA All-America First Team selection in addition to being named All SSC First Team. The Spartans look to start their 2018 season picking up right where they left off, with Kew leading the way.
