Ross Dickerson Snags SSC Specialist of the Week
Tampa men's lacrosse face-off specialist, Ross Dickerson, earns his third SSC player of the week honors.
TAMPA, Fla.- The Sunshine State Conference announced its men's lacrosse player of the week winners, tabbing University of Tampa face-off specialist Ross Dickerson as the Specialist of the Week. This marks the third time this season that Dickerson has received this honor.
Dickerson is named Specialist of the Week based on his performances against Westminster College and No. 8 Colorado Mesa University. Dickerson won eight of his nine faceoffs and scooped up five ground balls in the Spartans' 19-9 victory over Westminster in Salt Lake City, winning by a score of 19-9. In a 10-9 road loss against No. 8 Colorado Mesa, he won 18-of-24 faceoffs while grabbing 11 ground balls. For the week he won 26-of-35 faceoffs for a 74.2% success rate. The sophomore also picked up 16 total ground balls. Dickerson currently ranks second in the conference in faceoff percentage (.762) as well as ground balls per game (7.0).
Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of March 4 - March 11, 2018. Athletes are nominated by Sports Information Directors of member institutions.
