Spartans Receive No. 9 Ranking in Latest USILA Coaches Poll
In the latest USILA Coaches Poll, the University of Tampa Spartans received the No. 9 ranking.
TAMPA, Fla. – In the USILA Division II Coaches poll announced on Monday, April 23rd, the University of Tampa men's lacrosse program was tabbed the No. 9 best team in the nation.
Last week, Tampa ended regular season play 1-1, falling to the No. 5 Saint Leo Lions 10-9 before bouncing back to defeat the Lynn Fighting Knights 13-6. This week the Spartans will travel to St. Leo, Florida where they will compete in the semifinals of the Sunshine State Conference Championships. The Spartans earned the 3 seed and will play the 2 seed, Florida Tech, at 3:00 p.m. Should the men win this game, they will advance to the championship game which will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 29th, against the winner of the Saint Leo vs. Rollins semifinal.
The Sunshine State Conference is well represented in the coaches poll. Saint Leo now holds the No. 5 ranking, followed by UT at No. 7 and Florida Tech snagging No. 15.
