Men's Lacrosse Sweeps Player of the Week Honors

MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa men's lacrosse program had three athletes earn Sunshine State Conference player of the week honors after their performance against the No. 17 Lenoir-Rhyne Bears. The Spartans defeated the Bears by a final score of 16-11. 

Jake Mosher McGraw earns Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in No. 12 Tampa 16-11 win over No. 17 Lenoir-Rhyne University. The Saint John, New Brunswick native tallied five points off of three goals and two assists against the Bears. He took six shots, placing four on cage and added two ground balls in the victory.

B.J. Borowski earns Defensive Player of the Week honors for his goaltending performance in the No. 12 Tampa's 16-11 win over No. 17 Lenoir-Rhyne University. The Frederick County, Maryland product registered a 65.5% save percentage while facing 30 shots on goal. The sophomore made 19 saves, allowed ten goals, and picked up six ground balls. With the play of Borowski, the Spartans went 10-19 on clearing attempts and did not allow a goal on five man-down chances.

Ross Dickerson was selected as Specialist Player of the Week for his performance at the faceoff X in Tampa's 16-11 win over No. 17 Lenoir-Rhyne University. Dickerson, a native of Berlin, Maryland, went 23-28 (82.1%) in faceoffs and added 15 ground balls against the Bears. The junior has been named Specialist of the Year five times in his career. As of February 22nd, Dickerson's 76.9%  faceoff winning percentage ranks him No. 8 in Division II. 

Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of February 18 - 24, 2019. Athletes are nominated by Sports Information Directors of member institutions.
