Men's Lacrosse Earns No. 19 in the Latest USILA National Poll
After defeating the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish 21-10 in their final regular-season contest, the University of Tampa men's lacrosse program snags No. 19 in the latest coaches poll.
TAMPA, Fla. - After defeating the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish 21-10 in their final regular-season contest, the Spartans find themselves at No. 19 in the latest USILA coaches poll, as announced by the association, Monday.
The University of Tampa Spartans defeated the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish 21-10 in their final regular season game of the 2019 season. Andrew Kew
scored five goals in the contest, becoming the all-time Division II goal leader now with a career total of 248. Kew breaks this record set in the years 1998-01 by Andrew Wasik from Pace University. The Spartans end the regular season with an overall record of 12-5 and an SSC record of 6-1.
Limestone sits at the top of the poll, followed by Adelphi and Le Moyne at No. 2 and No. 3 respectively. To round out the top five, Belmont Abbey sits at No. 4 while Merrimack snags No. 5. The Sunshine State Conference is represented in the poll by the No. 15 Lynn Fighting Knights and UT at No. 19. Additionally, Rollins and Saint Leo are receiving votes.
This week the Spartans will host the Tars on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. for the first round of the Sunshine State Conference tournament. Should the Spartans win, the team will advance to the SSC Championship game held on Sunday, April 28th.
