Ulmer Named SSC Defensive Player of the Week

MELBOURNE, Fla - In the final release for player of the week for the 2021 season, Tampa's Blake Ulmer has been named Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week. 

Ulmer takes Defensive Player of the Week honors for the fourth time this season, following his performance in a pair of Tampa victories. The Naples, Florida native allowed five goals and recorded six saves while facing 11 shots in UT's 14-5 win against Saint Leo. Ulmer followed with 10 goals allowed and 17 saves while facing 27 shots in a 12-10 win against No. 16 Lynn. He posted a .605 save percentage as the Spartans remain perfect on the year.

Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of May 3 - 9, 2021. Athletes are nominated by Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions.
