TAMPA, Fla. – No.3 Tampa earns it's fifth conference win on senior day against Lynn.
The game would begin with Conley Stone netting an early shot off the opening faceoff, pressuring the Fighting Knights' defense early. On the next possession, Owen Miller opened the scoring off a pass from Charlie Bolesh. Andrew Milani would go on to net one with an assist from freshman Zack Friend. The Spartans would go up three goals behind Canyon Birch's tally, causing the Fighting Knights to call a timeout just two minutes into the game. Milani netted his second of the game, with Bolesh netting one of his own soon after to build Tampa's lead to five. Lynn got on the board with just over two minutes left in the first quarter. The Spartans would head into the second 15 minutes with a 5-1 lead.
The second quarter began with Miller being the first to score once again. Milani finished off his hat trick early in the quarter, building the Tampa lead to six. Tampa would continue to score, with Miller finishing off his hat trick and Jackson Bashaw netting one from Birch. The Tampa offense would continue to explode, sending them into the half with a 10-goal lead.
The second half began with the Fighting Knights getting one back early, cutting the Spartans' lead to nine. Milani would respond soon after, netting his fifth of the game. Alex Poma would go on to win the face-off right after, netting a goal of his own building Tampa's lead to eleven. The Spartans would go on to net five consecutive goals, to head into the final 15 minutes with a 16 goal lead.
The final 15 minutes began with Evan Gibbs netting one off an assist from Gavin Bomstad. The Fighting Knights would net back-to-back goals to spark the bench. Aaron Cho would net a late goal for Tampa, earning Tampa their fifth conference win.
