BOCA RATON, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's soccer team traveled to Lynn University to take on the Fighting Knight, and, unfortunately, dropped a heartbreaker by a score of 2-1.
The first half of the contest was a back and forth affair, as neither side could pull ahead and remained scoreless at the half.
Fredinho Mompremier would put the Spartans on the board first in the second half as he notched his fourth goal of the season at the 48-minute mark. Tampa would continue to trying to extend their lead, but Lynn would refuse to go quietly as Luca Puster notched an equalizer at the 76-minute mark. The Knights would add another at the 82-minute mark sealing their victory.
When asked about his team's performance head coach Adrain Bush said, "I am proud of the growth we are continuing to show, it speaks volumes to the work our players are putting in. Our focus now has to shift to the SSC tournament".
Tampa will wait for official seeding in the Sunshine State Conference tournament for their next match. Details will be announced on Tampaspartans.com as they become available.
