No. 7 Spartans Ready to Host Florida Southern in Midweek Action
After having a bye during the weekend, UT will host FSC tomorrow night at 7 pm
TAMPA, Fla. – A pair of Top-5 teams in the Sunshine State Conference are set to face off on Wednesday as No. 15 University of Tampa will host Florida Southern College for a 7 p.m. match. The Spartans come into the match carrying a nine-game home winning streak going back to last season.
The Matchup: No.15 University of Tampa (5-0-1, 1-0-1 SSC) vs. Florida Southern College (3-2-1, 1-1-1 SSC)
• The Spartans and Mocs enter the contest as the No. 2 and No. 5 offenses in the SSC as Tampa is averaging 3.6 goals per game as a team while FSC comes into the match with an even 2.0 goals per game average.
• This will be the first home conference game of the season for UT after having faced Nova Southeastern University and Rollins College on the road.

Last Time Out: UT and Rollins battled out to a 3-3 draw in 2OT as neither side could find a winner after the 90 minutes of regulation play. The Spartans were led on offense by Lewis Sugden who scored the first goal of the match in the 6th minute and tied the match in the 80th minute off a free kick to send the game to extra time. The freshman scored his two goals on three shots on target. Senior Jason Collister notched the remaining goal for UT in the 33rd minute of action.
About the Spartans: Freshman Sugden leads the SSC in assists per game with an average of .833, with five in six games played. Senior Collister and sophomore Fredinho Mompremier are tied for fourth in the conference in goals scored as they have both tallied six so far this season. Mompremier is also tied for second in game-winning goals at three having played three games less than the leading scorer in the conference. Defensively, goalkeeper Jake Richards is fourth in the conference in goals against, as he is allowing just under one goal per match at .947
About the Mocs: FSC is led by midfielder Joseph Ammer who has three goals and one assist in the six games. The sophomore is also leading in total shots with 18 and has one game winner, scoring the lone goal against Nova in his team's 1-0 victory on September 14. Senior Cole Clingerman has played every minute between the posts and has allowed eight goals while recording 23 saves.
Series History: Tampa holds the all-time series lead with an impressive 31-5-4 record. In the last meeting between the two squads, FSC defeated the Spartans in Lakeland, Fla by the smallest of margins at 1-0. Carl Spansk scored the lone goal of the match in the 38th minute.
Tickets: General Admission ticket prices for all Florida Southern regular season athletic events are $5 for adults and $3 for Seniors, Military and visiting students. Youth (ages 12 and under) are admitted free of charge.
