No.23 Tampa Ready to Take on No. 12 PBA on Senior Night
The Spartans will wrap up their regular season against the Sailfish and will honor their 7 seniors prior to the game
TAMPA, Fla. – After going 1-1 last week, the Spartans climbed back into the NSCAA Top 25 and are ranked 23rd in the latest poll. Tampa will wrap up its 2016 regular season schedule when they host the 12th ranked Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish for a 7 p.m. match tomorrow night. Prior to the game, UT will recognize its seven seniors. The Spartans are coming off a 3-1 upset of then-No. 22 Florida Tech in Melbourne, Fla.
The Matchup: No.23 University of Tampa (9-3-2, 4-3-1 SSC) vs. No.12 Palm Beach Atlantic University (10-3-1, 5-1-1 SSC)
• The Sailfish are second in the conference standings while the Spartans are fourth in the standings.
• The Spartans and Sailfish come into the match averaging similar numbers offensively. UT is averaging 2.93 goals/game while PBA is averaging 2.57 goals/game. Palm Beach has the edge in shots per game as they come in averaging 16.93 while Tampa is averaging 13.9.
• The Spartans have notched 41 goals this season while the Sailfish are not too far behind as they have recorded 36.

Last Time Out: UT traveled to Melbourne, Fla. to take on then-No.22 Florida Tech. The Spartans came away with a 3-1 victory. Mike Ciluffo, Jake Winship, and Bay Downing tallied goals for the Spartans. Fredinho Mompremier leads the way on offense scoring 11 goals this year while Lewis Sugden leads the way in assists with eight. In net, Jake Richards has been the starter for most of the season and has conceded 13 goals in 866 minutes of action and recorded 24 saves.
About the Spartans: Freshman Sugden is tied for third in the SSC in assists per game with an average of .571, with eight in 14 games played. Mompremier is third in the conference in goals scored with 11 so far this season. Mompremier is second in game-winning goals at five. Defensively, Richards is second in the conference in goals against with an average of 1.030.
About the Sailfish: Palm Beach Atlantic is coming off a 2-0 loss on the road against Barry University on Saturday night. The offense is led by Charlie Dennis who has scored six goals this season to go with five assists. Freshman Elliot Barker has been the starter in 11 of the 14 games in net and has allowed 11 goals while recording 28 saves.
Series History: Tampa leads the all-time series between the two schools with 10 victories to Palm Beach Atlantic's four. In the last meeting, UT fell to the Sailfish 4-2 in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Tickets: Tickets are $5 for adults, senior citizens, and coaches. Children under 12 will be admitted free. UT students, faculty, and staff will be admitted free with a valid student ID.
