Tampa Drops to No. 12 in National Rankings
Spartans fall four spots following 1-1 start.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The University of Tampa continues to be ranked in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II National Poll, coming in at No. 12 in the week one rankings. After opening the season at No. 8 in the preseason poll, the Spartans slipped to No. 12 following an opening weekend that included a 3-1 victory at West Florida and a 6-1 setback to Spring Hill.
A total of four teams from the Sunshine State Conference are represented in the newest rankings. Joining the defending NCAA South Region Champions in the poll are No. 5 Lynn, No. 13 Palm Beach Atlantic and No. 20 Florida Tech. Rollins is also listed as receiving votes.
Tampa, which has captured three national championships in program history, is ranked for the fourth consecutive poll.
