Spartans Hosting Tars in Weekend Matchup
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's soccer team will face off against Rollins College in a weekend Sunshine State Conference showdown.
The Matchup: University of Tampa Spartans (5-6-1, 3-4-1 SSC) vs. Rollins College Tars (4-5-2, 3-2-2 SSC)
Date/Time: Saturday at 7 p.m.

About the Spartans: Tampa is coming off of a solid win against Saint Leo on Wednesday with a score of 3-1. The Spartans got back in the winning column and improved their conference record to 3-4-1. The Spartans offense is led by sophomore forward Omar Thali and senior forward Rojay Smith, who have scored 13 of the team's 23 goals this season. Senior goalkeeper Jake Richards has had a fantastic season, recording 55 saves, which is second in the conference. The Spartans look to win consecutive games for the second time this season.
About the Tars: Rollins upset Florida Tech in an overtime thriller Wednesday, winning by a score of 2-1. Despite a rough start to the season, the Tars have bounced back and are fourth in the conference. Freshman forward Georgios Koliniatis leads the Tar's offense with five goals, leading all freshmen in the conference. Junior forward Michael Landau has been the playmaker for the Tars, leading the team in assists with four.
All-Time Series: Tampa has had the upper hand on Rollins, leading the all-time series 27-17-2. In the last matchup, the Tars defeated the Spartans 1-0. The Spartans look to get back to their winning ways against the Tars after going 3-6-1 against Rollins in the last 10 meetings.
Tickets: General Admission ticket prices for all Tampa regular season athletic events are $5. Youth (ages 12 and under) are admitted free of charge. Students and faculty/staff are admitted free with a valid UT ID.
