No. 9 Tampa to Host Auburn-Montgomery for Second Round of NCAA Tournament

TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's soccer team will host the Auburn-Montgomery Warhawks for the second round of the NCAA Tournament. 

The Matchup: Tampa Spartans (13-4) vs. Auburn-Montgomery Warhawks (10-4-3) 

Date/Time: Sunday, November 21 at 2 p.m. 

Location: Pepin Stadium || Tampa, Fla. || 417 North Boulevard, Tampa, Fla. 33606  

About the Spartans: The Spartans aim to bounce back from a loss to the Nova Southeastern Sharks in the SSC Conference finals. Spartans worked tirelessly, outshooting the Sharks 10-5 for shots on goal and 8-2 for corner kicks, but could not manage to get ahead of the Sharks. Juancho Fernandez netted the lone goal for the Spartans in the final minute of the match after being awarded a penalty.  

About the Warhawks: The Warhawks are coming off a 3-1 penalty kick loss to the University of West Florida Argonauts after remaining tied 0-0 through regulation and overtime. The Argonauts narrowly outshot the Warhawks 13-12, with both teams landing just three shots on goal. The Warhawks goalkeeper registered three saves in the match.

All-Time Series: The two teams have faced off twice. Spartans are leading the series 2-0 over the Warhawks. 

Tickets: General Admission ticket prices for all Tampa regular season athletic events are $5. Youth (ages 12 and under) are admitted free of charge. Students and faculty/staff are admitted free with a valid UT ID.
