Tampa Falls to West Florida to Begin the Season
TAMPA, FLA. – The University of Tampa men's soccer team falls to the Argonauts at home to begin the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
FIRST HALF: The game began with West Florida putting pressure on early, recording a shot on goal that went wide. Tampa began to push back, recording a shot on goal of their own in the 11th minute. Goalkeeper Steele Arlasky made an outstanding save in the 23rd minute to keep the matchup knotted at zero. Midfielder Theo Maye opened the scoring, capitalizing off a penalty kick to give the Spartans in a 1-0 lead. Tampa would finish out the half strong, heading into halftime with the lead.
Score: 1-0 Tampa
SECOND HALF: The second half opened up with the teams continuing to battle for possession. The Argonauts tied the matchup at one goal a-piece in the fourth minute of the half. West Florida would net two more goals by the 18th minute, bringing the intensity of the match up a few levels. Overall, the Argonauts push in the half would prove too much to come back from.
Final: 3-1 West Florida
