Friday Update From NCAA II Swimming Championships
BUFFALO, N.Y. - the University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams continue to compete in the 2007 NCAA Swimming Championships in Buffalo. Heading into the final day of competition, the Spartans remain among the top competitors in the nation.
In the women's 800 Free Relay, Tampa's team of Jessie Bardin, Meghann Mulbarger, Hannah Hudson and Diana Mielke swam to a seventh place finish with a time of 7:42.19.
Bardin also competed in the 500 Free, earning a fourth place finish after a time of 5:01.91. Her finals time was significantly higher than her 5:05.01 preliminary mark. Mulbarger also placed 11th in the event with a time of 5:06.72.
Tyler Furrer placed ninth in the men's 500 Free with a time of 4:33.29. Fellow freshman and teammate Roman Dagash turned in a 10th place finish in the 200 Fly with a time of 1:53.37.
Heading into the final day with sessions seven and eight remaining, the Spartan women rank 12th overall with 84 points while the men are 23rd with 25 points.
