Wright State Defeats UT
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams each fell to Division I Wright State University, as WSU took the men's race 159-101 and the women's event 156-97.
The meet was also recognized by Swimming World Magazine as the national meet of the week.
In women's action, All-American and national champion Jessie Bardin won the 200 Free with a time of 1:55.36. Ellie Eschleman also championed the 100 Back at 1:00.67. The Spartans also won the 200 Free Relay as the team of Bardin, Kaitlin Skepanski, Stephanie Branham and Hannah Hudson outpaced Wright State at 1:42.28.
Kyle Merritt won the 100 Back for the men with a time of 52.83.
Tampa will be back in action on Saturday as it travels to Cleveland, Miss., for the three day Delta State Invitational.
