Regular Season Complete as Spartans Battle Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams competed in their final regular season meet as the Spartans dropped a pair of contests at Florida State University.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:
Men's Score: No. 16 Florida State 152.5, No. 6 Tampa 71.5
Women's Score: Florida State 163, No. 4 Tampa 61

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- There was a total of 28 events in the meet.
TOP PERFORMERS (MEN):
- A second-place performance in the 200 Medley Relay came from Santiago Corredor, Jared Mindek, Tibor Tistan and Santiago Aguilera with a time of 1:28.86.
- Hayden Curley won the 1,000 Free with an effort of 9:06.82.
- In his Spartan debut, Corredor set a school record in the 500 Free with a second-place time of 4:19.96.
- Mindek won the 10 Breast with a time of 55.86.
- The Spartans were third in the 200 Free Relay, notching a time of 1:22.29 from Tistan, Aguilera, Patrick Fry and Caleb Brandon.
TOP PERFORMERS (WOMEN):
- Tampa was third in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:43.38 from Emily Van De Wiele, Alli McFarland, Madi Lauger and Tilde Morin.
- Lauger took first in the 100 Fly as her winning time was 56.79.
- Mady Barnes set a new school record in the 100 IM with a time of 59.89.
- In the final race, Tampa was third in the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:35.22 from Morin, Van De Wiele, Roma Vrijhof and Alice DeCoteau.

Tampa will compete at the 2023 Sunshine State Conference Championships, which is scheduled for February 15-19 at the Long Center in Clearwater, Fla.
