Tampa Runs to Fifth Place Finish at USF Invite
Lars Benner led Tampa for the second consecutive week.
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's cross country team concluded its regular season with a fifth-place effort at the University of South Florida Invitational.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:
UT Finish: 5th, 123 points
Non-D1 Champion: Florida College, 36 points
D1 Champion: North Florida, 17 points

OTHER NOTABLES:
• The Spartans took nine runners to the final regular-season meet.
• Nova Southeastern and Rollins also competed. The fellow Sunshine State Conference opponents placed second and sixth respectively.
• Benner was the top performer for Tampa for the second straight race. The senior has finished in the top-10 in both.
• Also running for Tampa were Joey Maus (41st), Eddie Keenan (42nd), Sam Schaeffer (44th) and Hunter Slater (45th).
UP NEXT:
With the regular season complete, the Spartans will travel to Melbourne on October 22 for the 2016 Sunshine State Conference Championships. The men's race will start at 7:45 a.m.
