Spartans Take First-Place Tie at FSU

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's cross country team turned in a first-place tie at the Florida State Invitational among NCAA Division II teams.

OTHER NOTABLES:
• Morfesi led the Spartans for the second of the last three races, notching a top time in the 8K.
• Wilson has finished in the top-three among Spartan runners in all four races.
• A total of 10 teams competed in the Division II portion of the race. The event also included six Division I teams.
• Tampa was joined by fellow Sunshine State Conference schools Florida Southern (3rd) and Florida Tech (5th).
• Also running for the Spartans were Sam Schaeffer (30th), Brendan Twiggs (33rd), Noah Elliott (48th) and Brice Easton (49th).
• UT was without the services of Brent Turner (1st at Queens), Stone Malick (3rd at Queens) and Trevor Kattenberg (4th at Valdosta State).
