Tampa Climbs Into NFCA Top 25 Coaches Poll
After a 19-4 start to the season, UT earned the 19th spot in the poll
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Tampa softball team was named in the NFCA Top 25 Coaches Poll in the 19th spot as released today. The Spartans went 6-1 last weekend as they swept a pair of doubleheaders against Southwest Minnesota State and Chestnut Hill prior to taking two of three over the Nova Southeastern University Sharks
Powered by an 8-0 week, Humboldt State is ranked No. 1 in the NFCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll for the fifth straight week. The top five also saw movement as a streaking Angelo State continued its rise up the poll to No. 2, while an equally red-hot Lenoir-Rhyne came in at No. 5.
The Spartans join fellow SSC opponent Saint Leo University in the poll. SLU is ranked in the 11th spot in the poll, falling one spot from last week's poll.
The NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll is voted on by 16 NCAA Division II head coaches with two representing each of the eight NCAA regions. Records reflect games played through Sunday, March 12.

The team will be back on the field this weekend when they travel to Daytona Beach, Fla. to take on regional opponent Embry-Riddle University in a three-game series. The series begins on Friday with a 6 p.m. start and wraps up Saturday with a doubleheader set to start at 12 p.m.
