TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa Spartans softball team split a doubleheader with the Saint Leo University Lions, ending a 10-game winning streak.

Game One Final: Saint Leo 2, Tampa 0 (8 innings)
Game Two Final: Tampa 4, Saint Leo (9 innings)
Records: Tampa 10-4 (9-3 SSC), Saint Leo 16-8 (13-6)

HOW IT HAPPENED — GAME ONE:
- The game was scoreless through 8, until Saint Leo scored twice on a throwing error. | Saint Leo 2-0
INSIDE THE STATS — GAME ONE:
- Corynn Miner tossed nine innings of near scoreless ball, with the only runs scored coming in the top of the ninth unearned. She had seven strikeouts.
- Avery Perkins went 2-2 from the dish.
HOW IT HAPPENED — GAME TWO:
- Tampa opened the scoring from a Lauren Fantone single that scored Stephanie Balmer. | 1-0 Tampa
- The Spartans added another run in the first when Cristina Clauberg scored, unearned. | 2-0 Tampa
- In the bottom of the fifth, Balmer again scored from a Mariah Galhouse single. | 3-0 Tampa
- Saint Leo scored once in the top of the sixth.
- Tampa added another run in the bottom of the sixth, scoring Fantone once more, from the Bailey Phillips ground out. | 4-1 Tampa
INSIDE THE STATS — GAME TWO:
- Lauren Fantone hit 2-for-3 with an RBI, bringing her season total to a team-leading 10.
- Mariah Galhouse earned her sixth win of the season (6-1) and hit 1-for-2 from the plate with an RBI.
UP NEXT: The Spartans travel to Saint Leo, Fla. to take on the Saint Leo Lions for a Sunday doubleheader. The first game starts at 1:00 p.m and the second at 3:00 p.m.
