Spartans Advance To The South Region Championship Game

CLINTON, Miss. - No. 6 Tampa wins it in nine innings against Alabama-Huntsville.

INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• Spartans got off to a hot start scoring two runs in the first inning. Camryn Wineinger doubled down the right field line scoring Lexie Chevalier. Mariah Galhouse singled to left field, driving in Wineinger.
• Tampa was in control throughout the majority of the game until the bottom of the 6th when Maddie Catron doubled to left field, scoring two runs for the Chargers. 
• The Spartans regained control in the top of the 7th when Stephanie Balmer capitalized on a wild pitch reaching home, and Chevalier hitting a sac fly, allowing Lauren Fantone.

INSIDE THE STATS:

• Mariah Galhouse 7.0 innings pitched, five strike outs, seven hits allowed, two runs conceded. 
• Chevalier 2-2, one RBI.
• Wineinger 2-4, one RBI.
