Spartans Prepare for Match-up with Sharks
The University of Tampa women's basketball team will host the Nova Southeastern Sharks for a 2 pm competition.
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's basketball team will host the Nova Southeastern Sharks on Saturday, January 27th. The women will take the court at 2 pm.
The Matchup: University of Tampa (12-7, 5-7 SSC) vs. Nova Southeastern University (9-9, 5-7 SSC)

Last Time Out: The Spartans traveled to St. Petersburg to take on the Eckerd College Tritons and were defeated in an overtime battle 66-63. Staja Tyghter was the leading point scorer with 19 points and led the defense with seven rebounds. Karma Jeremie was the second leading point scorer with 13 points. Rachel Warden led the team with five steals.
About the Spartans: The Spartans are led offensively by Tyghter who is averaging 13.3 points per game. She is followed by junior Jeremie and sophomore Warden with 11.4 and 9.2. As a team, the Spartans are averaging 61.6 points per game while shooting 45.2 percent from the field.
