Spartans Charge Past the Tars

HOW IT HAPPENED:
1st Half | The Spartans were first on the board after Emily Eshoo sunk a three point jumper. As a team, Tampa made three baskets beyond the arc in the first quarter giving them a steady lead. At the end of the first, UT led the Tars 12-8. The Tars started the second quarter with a layup and in the fourth minute, they got their first lead of the game. Although shortly after, another three pointer by Eshoo put the Spartans back on top where they stayed for the remainder of the half. Going into the locker room, Tampa led Rollins 23-21.
2nd Half | Rollins started the second half making two foul shots, which tied the game at 23. The teams exchanged leads until a jumper by Molly Franson sparked the offense. With two minutes remaining in the third, the Tars tied the game again at 35. Right after, a layup by Karma Jeremie put Tampa ahead again. UT then went on a six-point streak ending the third leading Rollins 43-40. The fourth quarter was the Spartans strongest period yet. After Staja Tyghter sunk a jumper, Tampa went on a seven-point run, which sealed the deal on the Spartan's victory. At the end of the game, Tampa defeated Rollins by a final score of 63-54. Jeremie took charge on offense and defense, totaling 18 points, six assists, and 10 rebounds.
