SSC Domination Continues With Victory Over Lynn
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's basketball team secured their 10th straight victory as they defeated Lynn in dominant fashion. The Spartans remain undefeated in Sunshine State Conference action after the double-digit victory.

All-Time Series: The Spartans own the series, 42-11; Tampa's longest winning streak against Lynn was 14 games that spanned from 1999 and 2005.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
1st Quarter | The game began with exchanges of baskets between the two teams until Tampa took over and dominated the paint. The Spartans scored 14 points in the paint in the opening frame, while Lynn did not score a basket in the paint. Kris Nelson dished out four assists while Dori Nagy rattled off 4-of-5 from the field and chipped in a free throw to total nine points. LaShayla Wright-Ponder tallied six points in the first quarter. Tampa shot 60% from the field in the quarter and converted 6-of-7 from the charity stripe. UT out-rebounded the Fighting Knights 12-4 in the first ten minutes of action. || Tampa 24, Lynn 10
2nd Quarter | Aliyah Abney came off the bench for UT and took control of the game. Abney, a junior transfer, scored nine points in the second quarter and led the team with 13 points at half. In the opening 20 minutes, Abney and Nagy secured five rebounds a piece. At halftime, the Spartans owned the paint with 22 points compared to Lynn's eight in the low post. 3rd Quarter | Lynn opened the half with a 5-0 run to cut the lead in half. The Spartans rebounded with a 5-point run of their own with a fast break layup by Wright-Ponder and a converted an "and-one" opportunity by Nagy. Tampa continued to control the paint as Wright-Ponder found Nagy on a back-door cut to extend the lead to double-digits. Melijah Sullivan found her rhythm with four points in the opening minutes of the third quarter. At the end of the third quarter, Nagy led the team with 20 points and 10 rebounds. || Tampa 56, Lynn 40
4th Quarter | The Spartans tried to pull away to begin the fourth quarter as Abney drained a three-pointer followed by a Nelson layup to extend the lead to 19. It was a sloppy quarter for both teams as they combined to shoot 9-for-28 (32%) from the field. Lynn's Baer recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Uloma Enyogasi led the Fighting Knights with 18 points in the game. || Tampa 66, Lynn 54
INSIDE THE STATS:
- Dori Nagy logged her seventh double-double of the year mid-way through the third quarter.
- Nagy tallied three blocks, a career-high. The junior from Hungary was one point shy of tying her career-high in points.
- Aliyah Abney recorded her season-high with 16 points, converting a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line.
- Kris Nelson tied her career-high with seven assists.
- Lynn struggled from long-range, shooting 3-of-14 from behind the arc.
BEYOND THE BOX:
- The Spartans remain atop the conference with a perfect 9-0 record in SSC play.
- Nagy entered the game eighth in the nation in defensive rebounds at 8.1 per game, and she collected nine defensive boards this afternoon.
