No. 13 Spartans Turn in 15-Point Road Victory at Embry-Riddle
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The No. 13 University of Tampa women's basketball team continued its nine-game win streak with a victory over Sunshine State Conference opponent Embry Riddle University on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
1st QUARTER
Melijah Sullivan would open up the first quarter with a contested layup of her own, the Spartans would start off rough, as Tampa would turn the ball over four times which would provide a 7-0 run for the Eagles with a layup from LaShayla Wright-Ponder would end the run from Embry-Riddle, making it 7-4. The Spartans could not seem to get into a consistent rhythm in this quarter as they would shoot a low 38.5 percent from the field compared to Embry-Riddle's 60 percent shooting. Sullivan and Kayla Bonilla would both lead the Spartans in scoring with four, as the Eagles would outplay the Spartans for the time being. || Score: 16-13 Embry-Riddle
2nd QUARTER
The Spartans would play like their normal selves in this quarter of play, as Mya Giusto would open up the quarter with a three-ball, this would be the start of a 10-0 run for the Spartans to make the score 23-16. Dori Nagy would meet with the charity stripe a couple of times in this quarter as she would go a perfect 4-4 from the line. The Spartans and Eagles would go back and forth throughout the quarter, with the difference-maker being the bench for Tampa, Giusto, and Audrey Ramsey would bring a combined 10 points off the bench for the Spartans, with all of Giusto's seven points coming in this quarter of play. The Spartans would get the better of the Eagles to end the first half. Score: 33-30 Tampa
3rd QUARTER
The Spartans would start the half with a good defensive stop and would not look back. The Spartans' game all around looked impeccable as they went on a 13-0 run to begin the quarter, with a resounding 53.8 shooting percentage from the field including 50 percent from behind the arc. The Eagles would be held to six points all quarter, with Bonilla leading the team in scoring this quarter with nine as the Spartans would run away with it going into the fourth. Score: 51-36 Tampa
4th QUARTER
The fourth and final quarter would begin with an Eagles jumper inside the paint, as Embry-Riddle would need a flawless quarter in order to get back into this game. Even though the Spartans would shoot a quarter low 30 percent, nonetheless it would be enough to keep the Eagles away from the lead. Giusto would score a team-high five points throughout the quarter. Score: 65-50 Tampa
