MELBOURNE, Fla. - Sydney Kin was rewarded for her ste4llar start to the 2022-23 season as the University of Tampa women's basketball standout was awarded as the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week. 

Kin takes Player of the Week honors her play at the 2022 South Region Crossover in Tampa. The Carey, Ohio native tallied 14 points, six rebounds, four blocked shots, and two assists as UT won 77-47 against Spring Hill. Kin returned to the floor with a 21-point / 13-rebound double-double in a 69-55 victory against West Georgia. Last week, the forward/center totaled 35 points by shooting 87% from the field (13-15) and 90% from the line (9-10). Kin averaged 17.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.0 blocks, and 1.5 assists while playing 57 minutes.

Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of November 7 - 13, 2022. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
