Tampa Women's Golf Earns First-Ever National Ranking
Spartans have competed near the top of three fall events.
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's golf team has achieved another program-first as it was tabbed at No. 25 in the latest Golfstat NCAA Division II top-25 poll.
The Spartans have competed in three fall events, placing fifth at the Daytona State Invitational, sixth at the Nova Southeastern Invitational and third at the Saint Leo Invitational.
Tampa is one of seven Sunshine State Conference schools in the top-25, joining Nova Southeastern (2nd), Lynn (7th), Saint Leo (8th), Barry (10th), Rollins (15th) and Florida Southern (19th).
Head coach Missey Jones and her program are in their seventh season. Since the 2011-12 season, Tampa has improved its4-player scoring average by more than 66 strokes. The Spartans are currently averaging 309.6 strokes per round in 2017-18.
