Spartans Open Spring With Fifth-Place Showing
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's golf team played its first tournament of the spring season, finishing fifth overall at the World Golf Invitational.

- Ana Maria Jimenez Rios | 13th overall, 149 (+5)
- Laila Forstmane | 23rd overall, 153 (+9)
- Emily Montagnino | 29th overall, 155 (+11)
- Emilie Bjørge | 29th overall, 155 (+11)
- Ella Mason | 49th overall, 159 (+15)
OTHER NOTABLES:
- Jimenez Rios, a freshman, led all Spartans for the second time this season.
- A first-round 74 from Jimenez Rios was the top round for the Spartans. She also led UT in the second round with a 75.
- Head coach Missey Jones did not register any individuals.
- A total of 21 teams competed.
- Nova Southeastern edged Saint Leo by five strokes.
- Francesca Santoni of Saint Leo was the medalist with a 141. Her -3 won by a single stroke.
