Four Spartans Earn All-SSC Honors in Addition to Kelly Gallagher Earning Coach of the Year
For the first time in program history, the Spartans take home the Freshman of the Year and Coach of the Year All-SSC Honors.
MELBOURNE, Fla. - Twenty-nine women's lacrosse student-athletes are recognized as All-SSC in the fourth year of Sunshine State Conference women's lacrosse. Lauren Tybor of Florida Tech is awarded Player of the Year honors. Bridget Sutter of the University of Tampa earns Freshman of the Year accolades, while UT's Kelly Gallagher was selected Coach of the Year.
Voting for the All-SSC Women's Lacrosse Team was conducted among the league's head coaches.

Tybor played in 16 games at midfield for Florida Tech in 2018, tallying 74 points from 45 goals and 29 assists with a .584 shooting percentage. The Jacksonville, Florida product also provided the Panthers with 106 draw controls, 42 ground balls, and 33 caused turnovers. The sophomore ranks second in conference draw controls per game (6.63) and caused turnovers per game (2.06). She is also Top-5 in SSC points per game (4.63) and assists per game (1.81). Tybor is the first SSC women's lacrosse athlete to earn Freshman of the Year1 and Player of the Year honors. She is also the second Panther to be named Player of the Year2.
Sutter started all 17 games in goal for Tampa, accumulating over 880 minutes between the pipes this season. The Evergreen, Colorado native recorded 141 saves and allowed 137 goals for .507 save percentage in 2018. Her 9.33 goals against average helped the Spartans secure a 12-5 record, and is the lowest GAA in program history. Among conference goalkeepers, she ranks first in saves per game (8.29) and second in save percentage. Sutter is the first Tampa women's lacrosse athlete to win an individual award.
Gallagher has been awarded Coach of the Year by her peers. In her fifth year leading Tampa's program, Gallagher led her team to new heights. For the first time in school history, the Spartans posted winning records for an overall season (12-5) and in conference play (4-2). The 2018 Spartans squad also earned its first IWLCA national ranking3 and received its highest seed in the conference tournament to date4.
Florida Tech's Sara Grenier becomes the first SSC women's lacrosse student-athlete to earn First-Team accolades in four consecutive years. Kallie German (Rollins College), Meghan O'Brien (Florida Southern College), and Lindsay Van Beck (Rollins) are awarded ALL-SSC First-Team honors for a third straight year. In total, 12 of this year's 18 upperclassmen award winners repeat as an All-SSC selection.
