Bridget Sutter Earns IWLCA DII Defensive Player of the Week Honors For the Second Week in a Row
For the second week in a row, Bridget Sutter was selected as the DII IWLCA Defensive Player of the Week.
GRAND LAKE, Colo. - For the fourth time in program history, a University of Tampa women's lacrosse player earns IWLCA National Player of the Week Honors. As announced by the IWLCA today, Bridget Sutter is the IWLCA DII National Player of the Week. Sutter is the first Spartan to receive this honor in back-to-back weeks.
Sutter played every minute for the Spartans in the SSC Tournament, stopping 38 shots while allowing only 28 goals for a .575 save percentage. Against #3 Rollins, Sutter made 24 saves to help Tampa to a 14-10 win. The sophomore goalie was named to the All-Championship team after her and the Spartans won the tournament championship with a 19-18 overtime win against Florida Southern. She also added 8 ground balls during the tournament.

The NCAA DII women's lacrosse selection show will take place on Sunday, May 5th. The selection show will determine the details of Tampa's first-ever NCAA tournament appearance.
