Sutter Earns Eighth Player of the Week Honors

MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference has announced the athletes of the week for the week of April 12-18. University of Tampa's Bridget Sutter has won SSC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week. This award now ties her for most SSC player of the week honors at eight. 

Sutter grabs Defensive Player of the Week accolades following her off-the-bench work for Tampa during a 15-14 overtime win against Saint Leo on the road. Saint Leo scored 10 goals off 14 shots in the first 33:37 before Sutter was subbed into the game. The Evergreen, Colorado product limited the Lions to four goals and posted seven saves against 15 shots faced. The weekly award is the eighth of her career, placing her in a tie for first all-time among SSC women's lacrosse athletes.

Sutter and the rest of the Spartans will be back in action on Saturday, as they will hit the road to face the Lynn University Fighting Knights. Game time is set to begin at 6:00 p.m.
